Meet the Founder of EmmUcare
At the heart of EmmUcare is founder and CEO Kayla Borgess, a dedicated healthcare professional, entrepreneur, and visionary leader who transformed her passion for helping others into a growing, woman-owned home care organization built on compassion, quality, and exceptional service.
Kayla's journey in healthcare began at a young age, inspired by her late grandmother, Judy Bailey, who owned and operated a personal care home in Pennsylvania. Her grandmother's dedication to caring for others helped shape Kayla's passion for healthcare and her commitment to making a meaningful difference in people's lives.
In 2008, Kayla began her career as a Nurse's Aide before pursuing her nursing education. In 2011, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), gaining valuable hands-on experience at Divine Providence Hospital in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and later at Clinton County Prison.
Throughout her nursing career, Kayla recognized the growing demand for dependable, compassionate in-home care. She understood the importance of helping older adults and individuals requiring assistance maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life while remaining in the comfort of their own homes.
In 2017, Kayla turned her vision into reality, founding her own home care company, originally known as Helping Hands Home Health, which later evolved into EmmUcare.
What began with a single computer in Kayla's home quickly developed into a thriving home care organization. Through determination, strong leadership, and an unwavering commitment to quality care, the company expanded into multiple Pennsylvania communities, establishing a strong foundation for continued growth. Kayla also expanded the business into medical supplies, further supporting the needs of individuals and families throughout the community.
Building on years of hands-on industry experience and successful business operations, Kayla took the next step in her entrepreneurial journey by launching EmmUcare Franchising. Her vision was to create opportunities for aspiring business owners to enter the growing home care industry while maintaining the same commitment to compassionate, personalized care that shaped the company's beginnings.
Today, Kayla leads EmmUcare's continued growth and national franchise development, empowering entrepreneurs to establish and grow their own home care businesses while expanding access to high-quality, non-medical in-home care services.
As a business leader, Kayla believes that long-term success comes from strong relationships, operational excellence, continuous innovation, and a genuine commitment to the people and communities EmmUcare serves. Our History: Built on Compassion, Driven by Growth
EmmUcare's journey began in May 2017, with a simple mission: to provide compassionate, dependable in-home care that allows individuals to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
What started as a small, locally owned home care business quickly grew into a respected organization. Between 2017 and 2022, the company expanded to five locations across Pennsylvania, serving communities from Williamsport to Pittsburgh. During this period, the organization earned multiple Best Agency of Central PA recognitions, reflecting its dedication to quality care, exceptional service, and community trust.
As the company continued to grow, it expanded into medical supplies, offering essential equipment and resources to further support individuals and families in their homes.
In July 2023, EmmUcare began its journey toward franchising, introducing a new brand identity and a vision for nationwide expansion. This milestone marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter focused on empowering entrepreneurs to bring compassionate, high-quality home care services to their own communities.
